ecosalon + refinery29 giveaway

We didn't even have a chance to blog about EcoSalon's Summer Luxe Box before it sold out last week. Turns out $99 for $600 worth of eco goodness is just too good of a deal to pass up. All of the boxes sold out within just 11 hours. All except one that is! There's one box left and it's up for grabs over at Refinery29. Below are just a few of the great items in the box, including our notebooks! Find out what else is inside here and and enter to win here! The winner will be announced on July 18th.

catalog

Pawling Print Studio - 2011 CatalogCheck it out, we finally have a catalog!

It may not look like much to you, but it's taken us months to put together. We had convinced ourselves that we would work on our catalog after we finished developing the next idea ... or after we took some new product shots ... or after we restocked something that sold out ... or ... you get the idea. We were building up an outdated notion that it had to be this uber final document. We were treating the catalog like our products which have to be complete and consistent, instead of like our website which is continuously updated and evolving. We're not going to a trade show tomorrow. We're not printing physical copies of the thing. No one else knows what we have or don't have up our sleeves, so no one can know what is missing from it. Yeah, it all seems so obvious now.

Working on the catalog in combination with our wholesale policies and order forms has forced us to think about our production and branding and taking the next step. We have lots of ideas for the future, so hopefully our catalog will be updated and improved frequently. In the meantime, your constructive criticism is most welcome and if you're a shop interested in carry our goods, email us for those forms!

west elm recap

Pawling Print Studio at the New York West Elm Hearts Handmade Art Event'Time flies' seems to be a recent theme around here. Is it too late to recap an event that happened two months ago!? Yeah, we're talking about that West Elm pop up event from the end of March (!!) ... better late than never, right?

We should start out by thanking Ella Tay at West Elm for really going above and beyond. She knew who we were as soon as we walked in the store and had already set up a space that was perfect for our items. We had a table and a bookcase (woo!) on one side and a beautiful chair and side table on the other. The chair was perfect for displaying our pillows.

Our location was pretty interesting. We got a ton of traffic since we were on the main path to the booze which was strategically located at the back of the store. Our spot was great for exposure, but it also got pretty crowded between our displays which may have discouraged people from stopping for too long. There was also a giant mirror behind the chair and it was both hilarious and bit surprising to see how many people stopped to check themselves out!

Pawling Print Studio at the New York West Elm Hearts Handmade Art EventWe had an hour to set up and thought we would have plenty of time to check out the other sellers, but as soon as we were done setting up people were already wandering in. It was really cool to see our products in a retail setting and under retail lighting. And it was especially cool when the occasional customer told us that they didn't stop at our table at first because they thought it was West Elm stuff!

Thanks again to West Elm, Etsy, and Remodelista for this awesome opportunity. Thanks to all of our family and friends for coming by to support us. And thanks to all of the new faces who introduced themselves to us!
